Our Kids Martial Arts has different programs that are designed for beginning students of different ages. Programs have various options depending on how often you plan to attend class. (Note: prepaid classes not used in a given month are not carried over into subsequent months.)
Dedication is required to make progress in a quality art so initial membership programs are for 2 months.
There are no contracts. Students are free to pay monthly after the first 2 months.
A medium weight uniform is included when you sign-up/become a member. And if you sign-up now online you Save $25 on the registration fee. Reducing it to $44.95 from the usual $69.95.

Tsunami Karate Bujitsu - Martial Arts for Kids
- Teaching Kids To Be Successful Kids -
All new children in Grades 1-4 (and younger/older children who choose
to) start in our Tsunami Karate Bujitsu - Martial Arts for Kids program.
This program focuses on developing the abilities necessary for children
to learn and be successful in school and other areas of life - concentration,
ability to learn, following an instructor, taking ownership of improvement,
etc. It concentrates on physical skills in highly active group classes.
These are great martial arts classes for almost all children. Older
children (Grades 5+) and more experienced younger children can choose
to add (or switch to depending on the child) the more individual and
detail focused Preparation for Budo (see below) if they wish. Older
children wishing to start in both programs should use the Sign Up/Pricing
buttons in the Preparation for Budo section below.

Preparation for Budo - Martial Arts for Future Adults
- Teaching Kids To Be Successful Adults -
At Budo we recognize that children in Grades 5 and above mature at different rates. Some kids in this age range still enjoy the kid-focused group classes, while others prefer learning individually with older classmates as they take more ownership of their training. Therefore for children in this age range have several options.
The Preparation for Budo program is designed to prepare children to be successful adults and also prepares them to learn the full depth of the arts taught at Budo in the regular Budo program. Therefore many children this age quickly add the Preparation for Budo classes to their program. Children in Grades 7-9 can even choose to start directly in the Budo (teen/adult level) classes.
The Preparation for Budo classes focus on individual responsibility and development especially on details. It teaches children how to be aware of and be a participant in their own growth and direction while learning that others with more experience are invaluable to this process. It also teaches them to decern and focus on useful information rather than noise or promised enticing excitement.
Many children find a combination of the Tsunami Karate Bujitsu - Martial Arts for Kids program and the Preparation for Budo program useful, giving lots of attention to detail and opportunity for many repititions. Others are more suited to one or the other. Still others would prefer to start working directly on the adult level. The choice is up to you, and this choice can be changed later.
